| Cultural Days / Art Shindig | On Saturday September 25, 2010 you are invited to attend a unique event at Martin House Garden Art, 299 Penetanguishene Road, Barrie called Cultural Days / Art Shindig. This event is running in conjunction with Cultural Days Canada which is a country wide series of events which involves Canadians in art making endeavors. We have invited a number of our talented artist friends to come and spend a day working on site creating a new work of art. They may be working on their own or decide to collaborate with fellow artists in their favourite medium. Starting at 1 pm the public is welcome to visit, see existing art already on display, talk with participating shindig artists and even grab a piece of paper and do a drawing yourself. As the day and the artwork progresses you may want to call or text a few friends and ask them to come see what's happening. At 6pm the day will wrap up with a showing of completed works. We will have painters, sculptors, and musicians. |

| Basket Making Workshop |

| On Saturday October 2, 2010 Martin House Garden Art is holding a basket making workshop. Leslie Songer-Terry, a well established basket maker from Gravenhurst, will be leading the Market Basket fun day. You will learn how to prepare the reed, weave and finish with exacting detail. Everyone will go home with a basket similar to the one in the picture. The cost is $85.00 which includes your materials and a light lunch. The workshop starts at 9:30am and finishes around 4:30pm.
